Check the Cable

Hard Reset

Keep both the devices connected and shut down Kindle immediately. Long press the Power button for a while and wait until it shuts down. Again, press and hold the power button to turn Kindle on. Now check if the device is connected to the computer.


Install the Kindle as MTP Device

If the connection problem is occurring, then the chances for improper installation of Kindle are high. In that situation, you will need to install the device on your computer again.

  1. Open the run program in your system by pressing Windows key + R button.
  2. Now type dsevmgmt.msc and press Enter.
  3. The Device Manager window will open.
  4. Go to the Portable device and click to expand.
  5. Right click on it and select Update Driver.
  6. Now, select the Browse my computer for driver software option.
  7. Click the Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
  8. Select Portable device.
  9. Find MTP driver and uncheck Only Show compatible drivers.
  10. Restart your computer.
  11. Now your system should connect with Kindle.
